Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences - Deemed University and University of Bari "Aldo Moro", Italy has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 30th January, 2018.

Hon'ble Pro Chancellor Dr Rajendra E Vikhe Patil was invited by Prof Antonio Felice Uricchio, Rector, University of Bari, to sign this educational and scientific agreement.

The agreement has been signed to facilitate exchange of staff students, undertake joint collaborative research activities and academic programmes in the field of Dentistry. Currently the two universities have agreed to work in the areas of Restorative Dentistry, Endotontics, Microscope assisted Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Growth Factors, Implants and Facial Asthetics.

The joint collaborative activities shall help in strengthening the mutual areas of interest and provide support to undertake faculty development programmes and improve patient treatment modalities.

Hon'ble Pro Chancellor, PIMS DU, during his interaction with Rector, University of Bari expressed his keen desire to further enhance the scope of this agreement in the areas of Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Public Health and Biotechnology, which was agreed upon. The Senate of University of Bari has also accepted to collaborate in Medicine & Surgery. It was also strongly felt that the two universities shall work together to strength the PhD Programmes. Hon'ble Pro Chancellor, PIMS DU also interacted with the Deans of various faculties and management of University of Bari to discuss the mutual areas of interest.

This new agreement has ushered a new chapter in Internationalization of Higher Education at PIMS DU.
