Memorandum of understanding (MoU)for Research collaboration was signed between Division of Physiotherapy, Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, Karolinska Institutet(KI), Stockholm, Sweden and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy, Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni, India in January 2017.

The aim of the Research Collaboration is to develop high quality physiotherapy research that attracts external funding, meets the standards for publication in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and benefits the physiotherapy education at PIMS and KI.

The research team from both side indentified 3 areas of research. First research is on comparison of BPT projects from both sides on the basis of International Classification of Function coding which is already in progress. Secondly funding agencies ICMR and FORTE organization have been approached to undertake joint research collaborations on Osteoarthritis of Knee. Further another project on Low back pain will explored in the due course of time.
