Objectives:

The cooperation is made between TUFTS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE, USA and Rural Dental College as an extension of the memorandum of understanding among TUFTS, Dental Council of India and selected Indian Dental Schools.

The purposes of the cooperation between Tufts and Rural Dental College are as follows:

• Promoting institutional exchanges by inviting faculty and staff of the partner institutions to participate in a variety of teaching and/or research activities and professional development;
• Receive two undergraduate students for two to three weeks twice a year from the partner institution;
• Organizing symposia, conferences, short courses, and meetings on research issues;
• Carry out joint research and continuing education programs exchange information pertaining to developments in teaching, student development and research at each institution;

Outcome:

Every year two interns are selected on merit basis and they do their observer post of three weeks at Tufts University, Boston. The expenditure of this visit is borne by the students. So far six students have visited Tufts University since 2007.
